How Potassium works in our bodies.

I know that I am not being regular posting on the blog, but I hope to do better.
Recently I was told that I had to take Potassium for Low Potassium.  That is very important because Low Potassium can cause Heart Attack, Stroke, and other nice things.  But just last year I had too much Potassium and the Dr thought I would have to be put on Dialysis because it was too high and it had damaged my Kidneys.  I had been taking too much Potassium for some time and that and plus the fact that I had been taking Aleve every day for some time is why I had the damage.  We managed to turn the damage back and I didn't have to go on Dialysis after all. I thank God for that.

So I wanted to share with ya'll the dangers of Potassium and how important to keep it regulated.  I have started eating bananas and drinking milk hopefully to bring mine up so I don't have to take it by mouth (the pill is HUGE and extremely hard to swallow and the liquid is sooo  bitter!)

I hope to be off the supplements soon.

Iam trying to get a sort of plan for this blog, but I'm not sure yet how to implement my ideas.  God Bless You All!

Feb 24, 2015 1st post

I have been trying to get the nerve up to actually start my blog.  I tried to learn from the pins on Pinterest, but I just got overwhelmed more and more.  So I finally decided to just dive in with both feet.  If I fail, I'll at least sat I tried!

I want to tell people about my love of crocheting, which I have done for about 50 yrs.  I must have a pattern and cannot look at an item and go from there.  I wish I had that talent as so many others do, but I just go with the flow.  I can find free crochet patterns on the WEB for most anything I want.  I make most anything from baby clothes to adult things to purses to sock and slippers. etc.  I stay pretty busy with that and I love doing it.

I love Pinterest and spend time on it daily.  At the present time, I am slowly trying to clean up my boards so that they are better for the viewers and pinning.  I have all kinds of boards and enjoy Pinterest immensely. I know that many people use Pinterest to make money.  Right now I am only having fun with it, but who knows what might happen as time marches on?!

I also use Pocket and Evernote.  Both allow me to save things in any subject that can't be pinned on Pinterest for some reason.  I find Evernote to be the better of the two, because it shows what you saved on the left and it makes it easy to add, edit, or delete any one of the items saved.  Both are free up to a certain limit which I have never reached, so I love them! Either site is any easy way to save articles, patterns, recipes, anything!

I am Bi-Polar and from time to time I will post about Living with that and how it has affected my life and my family's lives.  It is a horrible thing that most people don't understand.  I hope I can help that to be more understood.

I enjoy sewing and reading, also.  I have not been able to read or sew much for awhile because of cataracts, but recently had surgery on both eyes and I can see a lot better now.

I live in Ridgely, TN.  It is in North West Tenneeessee-a very small rural town about 100 miles north of Memphis.  We have Reelfoot Lake here.  It was formed by an earthquake in 1811 when the Mississippi River ran backwards.  At least that is what is told about it.   It is a beautiful Lake and great for fishing.  Eagles come here for the winter and the State Parks have Eagle Tours during this time.  Eagle enthusiasts come from everywhere to see the Eagles in their natural habitat.

Right now we here in Northwest TN are just recovering from the snow and ice from last week.  It has been bad here, but we are really fortunate compared to many other places.

I'm going to say goodbye for now and will do another post tomorrow if I can.  I have no idea what  I will have on my mind tomorrow.  Maybe if you bear with me, I'll be successful in this endeavor.
